Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Northern Virginia, Attorney Laurie Satel developed a love for history and a deep respect for the role of government and the law in our communities, interning on Capitol Hill for (then Senator) Joe Biden. Laurie earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia, working as a field archaeologist before developing a passion for estate planning after witnessing the brutal effects of poor planning. Working for an attorney, Laurie helped clients establish trusts to protect their assets and avoid probate. During the Refi Boom, Laurie learned about real estate and mortgages before moving to Tampa, Florida, in February 2005. Laurie attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law, starting classes on the same day her youngest child started kindergarten.

During law school, Laurie worked for a law firm learning title insurance and real estate legal issues, while earning an Estate Planning Certification with her law degree. Laurie is a proud member of the Florida Bar and began her legal career working in litigation for homeowner and condo associations.

In March 2017, Laurie opened Satel Law with the vision to provide superior real estate and estate planning services to our community. While growing her own business, Laurie recognized the many challenges faced by business owners and the legal assistance she could provide. With her unique background, Laurie has grown Satel Law into a boutique practice supporting clients in real estate, estate planning and business law, most recently with unexpected circumstances of the pandemic including landlord-tenant issues, contract resolution, and assisting business owners and families with their planning needs.

Laurie is married with two teenage children (17 & 14). Some of her favorite activities are kayaking, hiking, writing and interior decorating.
