Most established service businesses are repeatable, but not sustainable. They run on invoices, a handful of people, and a process the owner carries in their head. That gap is exactly what determines whether a business can transition or not.

As a fractional CFO, I build that sustainability before the transition conversation starts: turning revenue, cash flow, and profit into numbers the owner can actually see and act on, getting process out of the owner's head and onto paper, and building the operating structure and banking relationships that let a business run, and be handed off, without the owner in the room. Through the ClarityCore Process, we work through this in five phases.

Whether an owner plans to exit in two years or has no plan at all, the businesses that come out ahead got their financial house in order early. That is where I come in, well before the succession or exit conversation, making sure there is a real asset to transition when the time comes.

I'm Randi Fechter, founder of Fechter Business Strategy Services. I help established service based business owners gain more control over the numbers behind their business, so they can make smarter decisions, protect profit, and grow with greater confidence.

My background is a mix that doesn't show up often in this work: a degree in psychology and education, paired with more than 20 years in finance, bookkeeping, business management, and strategy. That combination is why I tend to see the patterns others miss, in the numbers and in how a business actually runs, and turn complex information into clear, practical next steps. My work brings together financial insight, business strategy, and data analysis to help owners understand what is actually driving revenue, cash flow, and profit.

I'm based in the Charlotte area and work with businesses both locally and remotely.
