Scott was raised in a small midwestern town with an underpinning of Christian values. His life has had its share of ups and downs. The most notable event occurred when he became a 50-year-old without income, a career, and an identity.
In June 2015, he had to make one of the most painful decisions of his life: His family business, a legacy since the 1960s, couldn't survive any longer. Despite years of effort to adapt after the 2008 financial disruption, the company was out of time and options. Scott's 30-year career as a COO and CEO came to a sudden end. It was an unplanned and unwanted exit from business.
After a decisive call with a board member, Scott found his wife sitting on the porch. "We have to close the business," he told her. They sat together in quiet disbelief, grappling with the reality that their years of investment and passion weren't enough to save the company. It was a painful moment, marking both an end and a new beginning. The morning after closing the business, he woke up at age 50 with no career and a six-month ordeal of Chapter 7 bankruptcy looming. Emotionally drained, he spent the next four years grappling with self-doubt, depression, and a crisis of identity.
But in 2020, amid the pandemic, something clicked. He realized that his business journey, his hardships, and his coaching skills could all be combined for a greater purpose. That epiphany turned out to be his calling. Scott's entire life has culminated to the point where you find him today. He has made a commitment to be the guide he wishes he'd had when he faced the most life-defining decisions he ever had to face.Through the grace of God, he found his way out of the fog. That journey led him to create a service for the person facing major changes in their life.
Today, Scott works primarily with Executive Leaders and Business Owners in their 40-50's to tame the chaos, design their next adventure, and then implement that journey through an iterative, cyclical coaching methodology.
Scott has been happily married for over 39 years. Father to two grown, married children and "Pop-Pop" to 3 grandchildren. He serves in his local church on the worship team as pianist/guitarist, loves fly-fishing and is an avid coffee connoisseur.
